“The bedroom & bathroom were immaculately clean & the bed was so comfortable I didn’t want to get up. I had everything I needed including a lovely spot to sit outside & watch the sun set. Very peaceful & quiet with woods behind yet really handy for the main road. I had a warm welcome from James, who is incredibly helpful & spaniel puppy Brodie, who is simply gorgeous. Really hoping I’ll be able to visit again soon.”

“James was helpful, welcoming and offered local tips on eating out. The room was lovely, as described, and I had sole use of the bathroom along the hall. He also offered use of his kitchen, and milk for tea. As a solo traveller I felt quite secure. I know the area quite well, and there is plenty of interest nearby.”
“We had a wonderful stay in James’ home — even though it’s classed as a private room, we pretty much had a whole ‘wing’ to ourselves! Super private, peaceful, spacious, with our own door to enter and exit the property. The location was beautiful, with a gorgeous garden. The place was spotless. James and Emma were so friendly and helpful, but will just leave you to enjoy your stay. Would highly recommend, we’ll be back :)”

“I had the most amazing 8 night stay at James’s place. I was visiting family in the area so it was the perfect home away from home. You get your own private bathroom and use of a huge well equipped kitchen. Surrounding forest walks are lovely and only a 10 minute walk into Dalbeattie town centre. James was very responsive, helpful and friendly. I’ll be back!”
“What a gem. Super quiet, on the edge of a forest. The room is already very well equipped, and we were allowed to use the kitchen for breakfast. Wonderful shower, wonderful bed, everything was great.”

“James’s place is cozy and peaceful and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. It’s a short walk away from Dalbeattie town center and is surrounded by beautiful woods that we wished we had more time to explore. James kindly checked in if we found everything ok and asked if the room temperature was fine for us. Would highly recommend his place for everyone!”

“James’ place is very smart and homely and in a very quiet location, on the edge of Dalbeattie. Access is via an unmade track so not the easiest place to find in the dark, but the video of how to get in was very useful. Our stay was very nice though it was a bit cool in the house. James is a good host.”
“We thought we were just getting a room in James’ house but we had virtually the whole of the ground floor to ourselves! Our own kitchen and bathroom — so more than we had expected!! We had an issue with the TV in our room and James and his family couldn’t do enough to try rectify the situation. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay and would easily stay again. Totally recommend everything — 5 stars!”
